Backseat Bingo deals every rider a genuinely random, genuinely unique card from a deck matched to the trip β€” Highway, Mountain, Beach, or City β€” so nobody can claim their cousin got the easy squares. Then it gets out of the way. There's no timer to babysit, no turn order, no typing: you look out the window, you spot a yellow truck, you tap the square. Why it's sticky

It solves the actual problem with backseat bingo, which was never the game β€” it was the cards. Hand-drawn or printed ones always felt rigged, so someone always claimed the "easy" one. A shuffled deck ends that argument before it starts, and a fresh unique card every trip means the game never goes stale even on the family's hundredth beach drive. Best of all, it's the rare "screen game" that actively wants you to stop looking at the screen β€” the entire point is eyes on the window, which is exactly what parents were hoping for anyway.

The shared shell provides the card grid renderer (the same board-grid component every board-game concept uses), tap-to-mark state, trip stats and streaks in localStorage, and the how-to-play screen. Game-specific work is mostly content and small logic: prompt pools per trip type (Highway, Mountain, Beach, City β€” each a curated list of realistically spottable things), a fair-shuffle card generator that guarantees every rider's card has the same win odds regardless of layout, and a bingo-line checker. The card generator is a plain JS module (deck in, card out) fully decoupled from rendering, so a future "design your own deck" customizer or shareable-card-via-URL feature slots in without touching the game logic.
